The Cohn Restaurant Group will move forward with their plans to open a Draft Republic site in San Marcos. San Diego Beer News covered the news that Rouleur Brewing signed on to join at the site, taking over all brewing operations in the space formerly occupied by Mason Ale Works.

Draft Republic will take over the restaurant facility at the site, also formerly occupied by Urge Gastropub. The company closed their Draft Republic location in La Jolla last year but are still operating in Carlsbad.

Fresh off the heels of their recently opened tasting room in North Park, Rouleur will expand their operations from their Carlsbad facility and take on contract brewing for Draft Republic restaurants and others in San Marcos.

These companies teaming up translates to Rouleur Brewing being able to increase their annual production from 1,500 barrels to upwards of 8,000 barrels. Draft Republic now has a partner to brew beers for their restaurants, and Rouleur will gain another site to pour their beers beyond their current tasting rooms in Carlsbad and North Park.

Draft Republic is currently making a call for staff in San Marcos, holding interviews through early February. Reports say Rouleur is expected to move into their new brewing digs in February, with the Draft Republic Restaurant opening doors soon after. To learn more about Rouleur Brewing, visit their Website.
