Oceanside’s Enzo’s BBQ Ale House is preparing to open a new location in Encinitas at 1068 N El Camino Real.
The company’s second location will move into the former home of Buffalo Wild Wings in the Encinitas Ranch Town Center. Owner Vincenzo (Enzo) Mistretta tells What Now San Diego that this site is still under construction, so it could take another four to five months before the new Enzo’s BBQ Ale House opens. This is a massive accomplishment for Mistretta, who is from the small town of Bagheria, located in Sicily within the Province of Palermo.
Mistretta possesses over three decades of experience within the restaurant industry, previously pushing his culinary expertise under his uncle’s guidance, who was an established restaurant owner throughout Southern California and Phoenix. In 2005, the chef decided to share his passion and commitment to excellence in the culinary world and opened Enzo’s BBQ and Ale House at 4141 Oceanside Boulevard near the Rancho Del Oro Gateway Shopping Center. The restaurant offers a handful of BBQ favorites, such as wings, ribs, sandwiches, platters, flatbreads, burgers, and more.
“Enzo’s desire for culinary knowledge developed early on in life and helped to inspire him in his culinary studies throughout the country of Italy,” according to the company’s website. “Through his travels, he had the privilege of being exposed to not only Italy’s best chefs but also some of the best chefs around the entire world. After Enzo completed his education, he spent some time in the Italian military. Once he finished his time of service, he carried his passion of food to the United States to work for his uncle.”
