Over 40 years after the first location opened in San Diego, Epic Wings plans to open a new location in Rancho San Diego at 12098 Fury Lane, Site D.
Formerly known as Wings N’ Things, the Sacco family opened their first location in San Diego in 1982 after moving to the West Coast from New York, according to the company’s website. The family-owned chain operated as Wings N’ Things until 2018, when the owners decided to change its name and began franchising with the help of President Chad Presley. Now, founder Joseph Sacco and his two daughters, Marisa and Bianca Sacco, are opening a new location next year in Rancho San Diego.
The family recently applied for a liquor license application for a newly built Epic Wings between the Rancho San Diego Shopping Mall and the Rancho San Diego Towne Center. Bianca tells What Now San Diego they aim to open this new location sometime in Summer 2024, hopefully in June or July. This will be the first Epic Wings in Rancho San Diego, with the next closest locations being in El Cajon, Eastlake, and Rolando Village.
“With his 40 years of experience, we are excited to bring Epic Wings to another part of Southern California!” Bianca Sacco tells What Now San Diego.
When the new Epic Wings opens next summer, customers can expect the same delicious award-winning recipes in their traditional and boneless wings that have kept the company going for more than four decades. While the company began franchising a few years ago, it is showing no signs of slowing down, with new locations coming to California in Cudahy and Santa Ana soon, as well as a new site coming to Raleigh, NC, according to the company’s website.
