Flecha Cantina, an upscale Mexican restaurant concept co-owned by actor Mark Wahlberg, is preparing to open a new location in San Diego at 10514 Craftsman Way in 4S Ranch.
The company’s third location is set to move into the former home of Miguel’s Cocina, which will close on November 4, after a 15-year run in the 4S Ranch Town Center, according to SanDiegoVille and confirmed by a recent LinkedIn post from the company. While an exact opening date has not been announced, customers can expect elevated Mexican cuisine featuring both classic and contemporary dishes alongside a diverse cocktail program anchored by Wahlberg’s Flecha Azul tequila.
Flecha Cantina currently operates two locations in Huntington Beach and Las Vegas. The San Diego opening reflects Wahlberg’s expanding restaurant portfolio and deeper ties to Southern California. Wahlberg is also the co-founder of Municipal, a performance apparel company with a flagship store in Oceanside. His promotional visits and business ventures have raised the profile of his brand in the region.
The 4S Ranch location marks a significant transition for the space, which had struggled to recover from a serious food safety incident linked to Miguel’s Cocina in late 2023. The closure and replacement by Flecha Cantina signify a fresh start for the site and a new dining option for North County.
The menu at Flecha Cantina features a mix of traditional Mexican dishes elevated with modern techniques, including items like braised short ribs and sea bass with chimichurri. The beverage program highlights Wahlberg’s Flecha Azul tequila, craft cocktails, and brunch offerings designed to complement the food.
The restaurant, owned by Wahlberg and his partners, aims to provide an upscale dining experience with a focus on hospitality and quality. The company is actively recruiting hospitality professionals for the San Diego location.
