Fried Up Co., a local food truck that serves perfectly crisp, house-cut French Fries topped with unique and recognized flavors, is opening a brick-and-mortar in Carlsbad at 5808 Van Allen Way, Suite 110.
The company’s first storefront is set to move into a vacant building in The Island at Carlsbad. Owner Carlsky Quichocho tells What Now San Diego that he hopes to open this location in about two months but couldn’t provide an exact opening date. The new restaurant will sit in a 530-square-foot space between El Cubano and Jose’s Taco Shop, offering a variety of loaded French fry entrees topped with different options depending on what is ordered.
At the moment, Fried Up Co. only has six loaded fry options. There are the bomb fries, made with BBQ chicken, cheese, onions, spicy mayo, and BBQ sauce; loaded fries, made with Bacon bits, cheese, onions, jalapenos, creme fresh, and green onions; buffalo fries, topped with chicken tenders, cheese, buffalo sauce, and ranch aioli; bulgogi fries, made with marinated beef, cheese, onions, kimchi mayo topped and pickled jalapenos; cheeseburger fries, which has a beef patty, onions, cheese, bacon, bbq sauce, spicy mayo; and finally, the carne asada fries, made with fries, Carne Asada, onions, cheese, avocado crema, cilantro, and jalapeños.
It’s unclear if Fried Up Co. will add more options to the menu when it opens. All six of the loaded fry options are priced at $12. While the owners prepare to open the company’s first storefront, it will continue to operate through its French fry food truck, which is set up around the city. This will be an excellent site for the company’s first brick-and-mortar, considering how many other businesses and offices surround the upcoming location, making an excellent spot for a lunch break.
