GBOD Hospitality Group is now doing business in Little Italy, recently announcing their acquisition of two local Italian restaurants. The restaurant group added chic Italian eatery Bencotto and neighboring restaurant Monello to their portfolio.

Founded in 2012 by brothers Raymond and Patrick Davoudi, GBOD Hospitality Group found its footing in the San Diego restaurant scene with the success of Mezé Greek Fusion. Along with managing partner and COO, Joe Santos, the group built a portfolio of Gaslamp Quarter restaurants including Prohibition, El Chingon, Havana 1920, and most recently Las Tres Catrinas.

Now GBOD has taken over operations at Bencotto Italian Kitchen and Monello, with the promise of staying true to the authenticity of both restaurants, and will reportedly keep their teams intact to continue serving diners the Italian fare they’ve come to enjoy at both entities.

Bencotto Italian Kitchen features 100% handmade pasta dishes and is known for its tableside cheese wheel that’s always available. Monello offers Italian street foods, pizzas, and of course the Parmigiano cheese-wheel-tossed pasta. Both restaurants have ranked on local lists for Best Pasta, Best Italian Restaurant, and Best Happy Hour.
