Genteel Coffee prides itself on building deep ties within their community through their dedication to handmade coffees and teas. Lucky enough for North Park, they’re getting ready to roast in their new home on University Avenue.
Owner Justin Esselstrom has grown the brand in a DIY-style from humble beginnings as a mobile coffee unit to a full-service shop. Their East Village location closed due to pandemic-related circumstances.
As described on their website, the brand is purpose-driven and their coffee is the bridge within their community. They show dedication to the marginalized people in the city, creating an inclusive place serving premium beverages.

What Now San Diego could not reach Genteel Coffee for an official opening date but scenes from their build out in North Park are shared via Instagram. As of now, customers can get a taste of their specialty roasts and learn more about their close collaborators at their Web Shop.
