Guahan Grill Relocating in Oceanside by Year-End

Co-owner Carlsky Quichocho tells What Now San Diego that the team hopes to relocate by the end of the year

Guahan Grill, a family-run restaurant specializing in Chamorro cuisine from Guam, is preparing to relocate in Oceanside at 515 Mission Avenue.

The company’s new location is set to move into the former home of Ty’s Burger House, according to permit filings submitted to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. Ty’s Burger House closed earlier this year after 15 years. Co-owner Carlsky Quichocho tells What Now San Diego that the team hopes to relocate by the end of the year. It’s unclear when the current location at 4259 Oceanside Blvd #104 will close. Customers can expect Guahan Grill’s signature island-style barbecue, hearty rice plates, and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Guahan Grill, owned and operated by Carlsky and Carlos Quichocho, takes pride in serving a mix of locals, military families, and tourists. Known for showcasing traditional Chamorro recipes alongside more contemporary dishes, the brand has built a loyal following with its casual service model and generous portions. The new restaurant will continue that focus while expanding capacity to serve a growing customer base in downtown Oceanside.

Menu highlights include dishes such as chicken kelaguen, fried ribs, Chamorro fried rice, and barbecue combo plates featuring pork spare ribs and grilled chicken. Additional offerings range from island-style appetizers like empanadas and lumpia to fusion items like poke nachos, Guam Bomb fries, and a poke salad. A kids’ menu and desserts like banana donuts are also available.

Positioned within walking distance of the beach and Oceanside Pier, the new location is expected to benefit from high foot traffic, nearby hotels, and ongoing commercial development in the area. The location also allows the brand to maintain close ties to its core customer base while accommodating additional demand.
