Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream is almost ready to start scooping in Downtown Oceanside. The popular ice cream chain with spots in Del Mar, Carlsbad, and Vista is making final preparations for their newest location on North Coast Highway and Pier View Way.
The Ohio-born brand has grown through franchising to over 70 locations nationwide and continues fast growth in the San Diego region. Handel’s shops are known for their walk-up service, where customers order through take-out windows for speedy service.
Their exclusive ice cream flavors are made in house with close to 50 options like Monkey Business, Spouse Like a House, and Blue Monster.
What Now San Diego reached out to franchisee Travis Campbell for an update on the new spot. Campbell is a multi-unit operator, with other Handel’s locations in Orange County and North County San Diego.
A rep for Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream says the Oceanside location is expected to open doors by Late Summer 2022. Stay updated with this location by following their Instagram as an opening announcement should be shared soon.
