Harland Brewing will open a third tasting room just across the street from Bay Park at 4112 Napier St. later this year. As Benchmark Brewing leaves the building, Harland plans to enter, as a recent liquor license application has revealed.
Local brewing mogul Josh Landan is the mastermind behind Harland Brewing, which he launched after leaving Saint Archer in 2017, the Union Tribune reported. Landan was one of the original founders of Saint Archer, a prominent San Diego brewery that was (infamously) sold to MillerCoors in 2015.
After leaving Saint Archer, Landan branched out to non-alcoholic beverages with Villager Goods, selling organic coconut water. This brand made it on the shelves at Target, as reported by Beverage Industry Magazine. Now, the focus has been turned back to brewing, as Landan’s beer moves into Bay Park. On the menu at their current locations, guests can order uniquely flavored brews, like their new release: a strawberry mochi hazy double IPA.
What Now San Diego reached out to Harland Brewery for comment, but they have yet to make a statement on the new development. While an opening date has not yet been announced, a SanDiegoVille article posits that the new location plans to provide a children’s play area and sell branded merchandise.
