Hommage Bakehouse is expanding their San Diego footprint and increasing wholesale service to local businesses. Eater reports Hommage Bakehouse has secured new digs at the Civita Properties in Mission Valley along with a new production facility in Sorrento Valley.
Founder Justin Gaspar, a Bay Area native, has made a name for Hommage Bakehouse in San Diego through a partnership with La Clochette Du Coin and as a winner of Hulu series, “Baker’s Dozen.”
Gaspar operates Hommage Bakehouse out of the Pacific Beach coffee shop, supplying their bread and pastries along with other area businesses like Portal Coffee, Cafe LaTerre, and more through wholesale distribution.
Hommage Bakehouse is known for their handcrafted breads, classic croissants, and signature Ube Bibingka Custard Buns topped with cracked caramel. The bakeshop releases seasonal pastries like their current Pumpkin Chai Scones and Rosemary Pear Caramel Kouign Amanns.
The bakery will join the growing community in Mission Valley’s Civita Park, placing a solo location of Hommage Bakeshop within their mixed-use development. Gaspar and team will also reportedly sell their notable baked goods from a proposed retail window in their future production facility in Sorrento Valley.
Hommage Bakehouse is projected to open in the Civita development by Summer 2023. For now, stay updated by following Hommage Bakehouse on Instagram for updates. The bakery will host a pop-up with White Rice this week to share their signature custard buns.
