After starting out at farmers markets and street fairs across San Diego, Cabetos Pops is getting ready to open its first brick-and-mortar location in town at 3331 Adams Ave.
“The plan was always to open a shop,” Owner Carlos Talamante said.
Cabetos also caters for weddings, quinceaneras, graduation parties, and more, but having its own storefront will give the hand-dipped ice cream shop more room to grow.
Talamante said they will be taking over a former ice cream shop at 3331 Adams Ave. so the transition to Cabetos shouldn’t be too difficult.
“We don’t need to do many changes,” he said.
Located in Normal Heights, Talamante felt the spot on Adams Avenue was exactly what he’s looking for.
“Adams Avenue is a very hip area with a lot of festivals throughout the year,” he said. “There are bars, craft beer, local shops, and a bunch of coffee shops and it just felt like a good fit.”
Talamante hopes to open in May.
Cabetos sells great-tasting ice cream made with the highest-quality, all-natural ingredients. Cabetos popsicles can be customized with a variety of dipping sauces and toppings with flavors like chocolate or vanilla drizzled on at the end.
