Kai Ola Sushi is making plans for its second eatery along the coast. According to a recent permit filing, the community-focused sushi restaurant is headed to Carlsbad next.
A filing with the City of Carlsbad outlines the tenant improvement project which will transform the 1,700-square-foot space from retail to a restaurant with a fully-furnished kitchen. Located in a prime spot on the corner of State Street and Carlsbad Village Drive, the space was formerly occupied by Carlsbad Chocolate Bar.
Kai Ola Sushi takes the craft of sushi making seriously while offering a casual neighborhood vibe in the Leucadia community of Encinitas. Taking inspiration from Japanese and Hawaiian culture, Kai Ola’s menu offers fresh poke bowls, locally-themed signature rolls like Stone Steps and Swamis, craft sake, and Omakase-style dining options.
An opening timeline for Kai Ola Sushi Carlsbad has not been announced yet. For now, find Kai Ola Sushi in Encinitas and visit their website for more information.
