Klatch Coffee, a family-owned Southern California coffee company known for its award-winning espresso and handcrafted menu, is getting ready to open its first locations in San Diego County inside Sprouts Farmers Market stores.
The company’s San Diego expansion is part of Phase II of a 20-location rollout across Southern California in partnership with Sprouts, according to a press release. While exact addresses and opening dates for San Diego have not yet been announced, the cafes are slated to launch sometime in 2026. Customers can expect Klatch’s signature specialty coffee offerings, including the internationally recognized “Competition Cappuccino,” as well as a selection of pastries, sandwiches, and breakfast items.
Klatch Coffee first partnered with Sprouts in May 2024, debuting its in-store cafe concept in Fontana. Four additional locations followed in Redlands, Eastvale, Fullerton, and Rancho Cucamonga. The next phase of openings, which spans Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino counties, will roll out between late 2025 and early 2026 before expanding to San Diego. What Now Los Angeles previously reported on the larger partnership and outlined the initial locations included in Phase I.
“This partnership with Klatch Coffee is about more than just great coffee — it’s about serving our communities through a local brand that shares our values,” Nick Konat, president and chief operating officer of Sprouts Farmers Market, said in a press release. “Klatch Coffee is authentic to California, delivers an exceptional product, and has already been a hit with our customers. We look forward to deepening this partnership and bringing outstanding, responsibly sourced coffee to even more communities across Southern California.”
Founded over 30 years ago, Klatch Coffee has grown steadily across the region and is recognized for sourcing coffee directly from producers who share the company’s values of sustainability, ethics, and quality. Roastmaster and founder Mike Perry developed Klatch’s “peak of flavor” roasting method, which continues to guide their operations today. The company currently operates 12 cafes across Southern California.
Sprouts Farmers Market, headquartered in Phoenix, operates more than 450 stores nationwide. The retailer’s partnership with Klatch reflects its broader commitment to health-conscious, community-driven offerings and adds an elevated coffee option for its customer base.
The Competition Cappuccino — a drink that helped CEO Heather Perry win multiple U.S. Barista Championships — will be available for free to customers on National Coffee Day, September 29, at all existing Klatch cafe locations. Guests can also register to receive a free “Comp Capp” at each of the 20 new cafes as they open in 2025 and 2026.
“Our partnership with Sprouts Farmers Market is a source of immense pride,” Perry said in a press release. “Customers tell us they love the convenience of enjoying Klatch and Sprouts in one trip. We share Sprouts’ passion for quality, sustainability, and products that are good for the earth and the body, and we’re excited to continue growing together in 2025 and 2026.”
