Since 1980, Leucadia Pizzeria has been building a loyal following across San Diego County. In the past few years, Owners Linda and Chip Conover have set off on a seemingly unstoppable growth trajectory which has landed them in Carlsbad, Vista, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, University City and Point Loma.
On a call with What Now San Diego, Linda Conover confirmed that they plan to open for business at 9906 Mira Mesa Blvd within the next few months. The expansion comes in the wake of increased national demand for food delivery — a service that Leucadia Pizzeria has already come to master.
“We’re primarily a delivery-based business, and we make it easy for people to order and eat remotely,” Linda Conover said. “Our restaurants have remained open with contact-free delivery, we have an app, and we also do curbside pick-up. So with all of those services, we’re always busy.”
Despite their decades-long local history, Leucadia Pizzeria hasn’t always been a household name. It wasn’t until ten years into their business that they launched their first satellite storefront in Rancho Santa Fe, Conover explained.
Now, they offer delivery services to the whole of North County. With this upcoming Mira Mesa location, Leucadia Pizzeria will soon have the means to serve thousands of customers more.
“There are a lot of real estate opportunities right now, what with so many businesses closing, but we’re still expanding with a little bit of trepidation. We still don’t know where the economy is going and how we’re going to bounce back,” Linda Conover said. “That said, being in the business for so long, there’s definitely a lot of recognition with the Leucadia Pizzeria name, so we’re really confident about this Mira Mesa move.”
Leucadia Pizzeria is one of many restaurants across the country that have expanded delivery services as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
