After announcing a second site opening in Cardiff at the beginning of the year, Little Fox Cups & Cones appears to be working on another location, this time in Carlsbad Village.
The company’s third location will open in North County later this year, according to San Diego Magazine. Known for its playful flavors and nostalgic feel, Little Fox Cups & Cones offers a rotating menu with scoops like Banana Pancake, Roasty Toasty, and Golden Hour. Guests can also expect specialty items like ice cream tacos, floats, and custom cakes. Most ingredients are locally sourced, and the brand focuses on organic dairy and creative mix-ins. The Carlsbad location is expected to follow the same format as the Oceanside and Cardiff shops, with a similar lineup of flavors and seasonal specials.
Founder Meghan Koll launched Little Fox as a mobile ice cream cart, popping up at weddings and events across Southern California. The first brick-and-mortar location opened in South Oceanside in 2023, followed by a second spot in Cardiff earlier this year. The brand has grown steadily, thanks to its unique flavor profiles and community-driven vibe. Koll continues to handcraft each flavor in small batches, emphasizing quality and creativity.
Located blocks from the beach, Carlsbad Village is a walkable downtown district with restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and galleries. The area is known for its year-round events, including art walks, live music, and one of the largest street fairs in the country. With a mix of locals and visitors, it offers a steady flow of foot traffic and a community-focused atmosphere. For Little Fox, this will make for an excellent location to grow the brand. An opening timeline for the new shop has not yet been announced.
“We are Little Fox and we make ice cream that some people really love,” according to the company’s website. “We use ingredients from local farms + all sorts of wonderful purveyors to make flavors that truly mean something. Sometimes people say that our flavors are a little off-beat and unique. That’s true! We look for inspiration from outside the ice cream world to help us devise new flavor ideas. It really keeps things interesting. We really hope you can make it in if you haven’t already. We really can’t wait to share our ice cream with you.”
