Luna Grill, a fast-casual Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant chain that began in San Diego in 2004, is opening a new location in Carlsbad at 5973 Avenida Encinas.

The company’s newest location is set to move into the Pacific View Plaza, according to documents submitted to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. Pacific View Plaza is an atrium-style office building located west of I-5 in Carlsbad, offering panoramic ocean views and direct access to nearby beaches and surf spots.

The property is undergoing extensive renovations under new ownership and features resort-style restrooms, showers, and a fitness center, according to LoopNet. Tenants enjoy walking or biking distance to popular restaurants, breweries, and retail amenities, as well as easy access to South Coast Highway, Interstate 5, and Palomar Airport Road. Additional amenities include 24-hour access, outdoor seating, on-site property management, and prominent monument signage.

Luna Grill, a fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant chain founded in San Diego in 2004, has expanded to approximately 50 locations across Southern California and the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The company operates on a corporate-owned model and received a $30 million investment in 2016 to support its growth. Recent openings include locations in Anaheim, San Diego’s Paseo Del Sur, and other parts of Orange County. Luna Grill is also preparing to open a unit at San Diego International Airport as part of its ongoing regional expansion.

Luna Grill specializes in health-conscious Mediterranean cuisine crafted with responsibly sourced ingredients. The menu includes items such as chicken kabobs, gyro wraps, falafel, and salads, all made to order. The company uses non-GMO oils, cage-free chicken, grass-fed beef, and sustainable salmon. Many dishes are designed to be gluten-free or vegan-friendly. Meals typically cost around $12 per person and are served in a fast-casual setting with real tableware. The restaurant also offers a loyalty rewards program and online ordering for added convenience.
