Manna Heaven BBQ is getting ready to expand once again, this time with a new location at 801 Fifth Avenue in Downtown’s Gaslamp Quarter.

The company’s sixth location is set to move into the former home of Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, according to a recent liquor license application. It’s unclear exactly when the new Manna Heaven BBQ will open, but considering Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ is still operating in this space, it likely won’t be until early next year when we see this change. Manna Heaven BBQ was founded in February of 2010 in Convoy and has since expanded to Chula Vista, Mira Mesa, National City, and San Marcos.

When Manna Heaven BBQ opens its newest Downtown location, customers can expect different meat choices, including marinated and non-marinated, as well as seafood and banchan (Korean side dishes) made in-house to enjoy along with the meats. While this experience is usually best done in person, Manna Heaven BBQ offers takeout options, allowing customers to enjoy this delicious food at home or elsewhere. This is an impressive accomplishment for the company, considering its original Convoy location is temporarily closed and scheduled to reopen on November 1.

“We wanted to open up a Korean BBQ spot that allowed us to introduce the Korean culture of cooking and dining together, all while providing quality meats at an affordable price to ensure that everyone in our community is able to experience our long-held tradition of Korean BBQ,” according to the company’s website. “Korean BBQ is made to enjoy hot and fresh off the grill with family and friends who all contributed to helping cook the perfect dish.”
