Mission Brewing has made moves to open a second taproom in San Diego. San Diego Beer News reports the classic San Diego beer brand will join the Kensington community, taking over the space formerly held by Kensington Brewing Company on Adams Avenue

Founded by Dan Selis in 2007, in recent years Mission Brewing has made updates to its branding and brought in new CEO Dan Partelow to continue to grow the brand in the competitive San Diego beer scene.

Mission operates its award-winning brewery from the 2,500-square-foot venue and tasting room at the historic Wonder Bread Building Downtown. Their flagship beers include the Mission IPA, Waves of Haze Hazy IPA, and Shipwrecked DIPA.

According to SD Beer News, the team at Mission Brewing has had plans for a second taproom site on their radar but waited until the right opportunity came forward to enter a close-knit community like that of Kensington. Renovations will begin soon on the 1,500-square-foot taproom to bring in a rustic aesthetic similar to their original location. Mission Brewing expects to partner with local food trucks and plan interactive events to connect to their new neighborhood.

Mission Brewing is reportedly planning a Spring 2023 opening in Kensington. Check out their latest tap list by visiting their website and follow on Instagram for updates and events at Mission Brewing Downtown.
