The Mochi Donut experts, Mochinut, continue their fast expansion with another location in the works in Poway. According to leasing information acquired by What Now San Diego, Mochinut will join Regency Center’s Twin Peaks Plaza Shopping Center adjacent to Target.

If you’re unfamiliar with Mochinut, their stylish bubble donuts are part Japanese Mochi rice cake and part American-style doughnut.

Their shops keep things interesting with a rotating menu of weekly flavors like Churro, Matcha, Cookies N Cream, and Ube. The freshly-fried donuts are glazed, and decorated with special toppings like crunchy cereal or cookies.

They’ve recently expanded their menu options to include Boba Tea drinks in flavors like Thai Tea and Ube. They’re also frying up Korean Rice Flour Hot Dogs. You can order cheese, hot dog, or sausage on a stick, coated in rice flour batter, fried to perfection, then topped with potato, crispy Ramen Noodles, or Hot Cheetos.

With 30 locations in California and counting, Mochinut currently has plans in place to open in El Cajon and National City. A rep for Mochinut confirmed they’re in the initial stages of planning the Poway location but no timeline for opening is available yet. Visit their Website to find your nearest Mochinut.
