Mr. Moto Pizza House, a San Diego-based pizzeria known for its New York-style pizza slices, is preparing to open a new location near UTC at 8935 Towne Centre Drive, Suite 101.
The company’s ninth location will replace Nobel Pizzeria between Which Which Superior Sandwiches and a new location of Joyee Noodle House in the Renaissance Towne Center, according to a brochure from Perform Properities. Mr. Moto Pizza House currently has six sites in San Diego County and two in Orange County. Founder Gibran Fernandez tells What Now San Diego that the location is expected to open in April 2026. Customers can expect Mr. Moto’s signature pizzas, stuffed knots, garlic knots, and homemade ranch, along with seasonal menu innovations.
Mr. Moto Pizza House first launched in Pacific Beach in 2015, founded by Fernandez, who gained early pizza experience at his uncle Aram Baloyan’s Pizza On Pearl in La Jolla. Since then, the brand has expanded across San Diego County and Orange County, with previous locations in Convoy, Ocean Beach, Encinitas, and an earlier La Jolla spot, which closed to refine its footprint. The company now focuses on a smaller, more deliberate expansion strategy while maintaining quality and consistency across its locations.
The new opening marks a return to the community where Fernandez first learned the craft of pizza making. The Renaissance Towne Center site offers strong access for both office workers and nearby residents, making it an ideal location for the brand’s mix of by-the-slice pizza, full pies, and specialty items. The restaurant will continue offering a combination of classic favorites and rotating seasonal creations.
The menu at Mr. Moto Pizza House emphasizes high-quality dough aged for 24 hours, resulting in a fluffy, airy crust with a crispy bottom. Customers can enjoy customizable pies, signature white and red pizzas, pasta, salads, calzones, stromboli, wings, desserts, and the brand’s original stuffed knots, which remain its best-selling item.
