More Shack Burgers and Crinkle-cut Fries are headed to San Diego as Shake Shack continues to expand in the region. According to a recent permit filing, South County is due for their first Shake Shack planned for National City’s Plaza Bonita.
QSR Magazine reports Shake Shack has big goals for expansion in 2022. With 386 locations open globally and counting, they are looking to open 40-45 company-operated restaurants this year.
Shake Shack is diversifying their units in particular markets, looking to strategically place locations in tourist-populated areas, shopping mall food courts, and even launching their first drive-thru restaurants.
You can currently find Shake Shack locations in Carlsbad, Del Mar, Mission Valley, UTC, and Little Italy.
According to Eater, Shake Shack is also planning a location in Scripps Ranch Watermark development. A rep for Shake Shack could not be reached for an update on either project. Visit their Website to find your nearest open location.
