The Farmacy, a popular brunch restaurant in Albuquerque, is getting ready to enter San Diego for the first time with a new location coming to East Village at 721 Eighth Ave.

The Farmacy Restaurant Group, led by Chef Jacob Elliot and Mary Hammack, recently submitted a liquor license application to open the restaurant in the former home of Minou Creperie. Elliot tells What Now San Diego that the new location is expected to open in late March or early April. The owners are in the process of wrapping up some permitting, inspections, and electrical work. This will be the company’s second location and the first time the owners expand the business following the success of Albuquerque.

When the new brunch eatery opens in early spring, customers can expect a variety of hyper-locally sourced, rotating menus of scratch-made, comfort food dishes that are available for breakfast and lunch. Elliot tells What Now San Diego that the company was recently awarded “Best Brunch in the City” last year. Now, he and Hammack are expanding to San Diego to be closer to Elliot’s kids and provide delicious Southern favorites to San Diegans.

“Originally, I am from the Pacific Northwest (Portland), and our food reflects that style of cooking,” Elliot tells What Now San Diego in an email. “Care and attention go into each dish. So, rather than a sprawling several-page menu, you will find a smaller menu with creative dishes, often categorized as elevated comfort food. We have a variety of egg dishes, breakfast sandwiches, and burritos, as well as sweet and savory waffles, biscuits, and some lunch options.”
