The long awaited tropical oasis Zama is almost set to debut in the Gaslamp Quarter. New renderings give us a sneak peek inside the Amazonian-inspired restaurant by the hospitality experts known for Rusticcuina and Breakfast & Bubbles.

Zama’s interior reflects the style and tropical flair of South America with custom-made natural wood built-in’s behind the bar and lush green accents. Designed by Tucker Sadler Architects, known for projects like the nearby AC Hotel and Portside Pier, Zama is poised to be the neighborhood’s latest dining destination.

On the menu, Zama focuses on Latin American cuisine with the addition of Peruvian and Mexican dishes like Carpaccio and Aguachile plus a Japanese-inspired sushi bar created by Chef Tayuka Kudo (formerly of Nobu and Lumi).

To complement their globally-inspired menu, their beverage program highlights tropical fruits like pineapple, mango, and guava flavors. Travelers and locals alike are welcome to experience Zama’s lively atmosphere beyond dinner and stay for dancing. Their resident DJ mixes into the night with new tango and Argentinian sounds.

Zama is projected to open in September 2022. A Website and Instagram account have been set up for Zama to keep updated with their opening announcements.
