After a short closure and an even shorter relocation, NOLA on 5th, formerly called Fifth Ave Kitchen and Tap, is hoping to reopen its doors next month.
“We closed our doors on December 1 and hoping to open our new spot on April 1,” Owner Andrew Boyer said.
Boyer is excited about all of the new space the new location will provide.
“This location gives us several opportunities for growth,” he explained. “We’ll have a full sit-down restaurant upstairs to hold 50 people and a downstairs will all of 5th Ave favorites.”
Formerly at 3515 Fifth Ave., the move north will giver Boyer more room to work with.
He said an expanded menu upstairs will feature much more upscale dining options.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Boyer started cooking in The Big Easy since he was 13 years old at his aunt’s deli. From Po’Boy’s to crawfish they serve it all.
“It will be all locally sourced New Orleans dishes,” he explained. “All produce, fish will be locally sourced and Cali-sourced pork, chicken and beef.”
With the move nearly complete, Boyer thinks the new spot will give NOLA on 5th a better opportunity to show off what it does well.
Despite months of trying, Fifth Ave Kitchen and Tap was unable to come to terms on a lease extension and the decision was made to move in the fall.
