Nono José Empanadas, a well-known pop-up serving authentic Argentinean empanadas across San Diego County, is opening its first permanent location in El Cajon at 415 Fletcher Parkway, Suite 713.
The new storefront will open in the former home of Hot Dog on a Stick in the Parkway Plaza, according to recent filings with the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. An official opening date has not been announced yet.
Currently, Nono José Empanadas can be found at several local markets throughout the week, including Little Italy Mercato in San Diego on Wednesdays and Saturdays, Oceanside Morning Farmers Market on Thursdays, and Chula Vista Farmers Market on Sundays.
Their menu features a range of empanadas, including an Egg, Bacon & Cheese variety made with scrambled eggs, bacon, and mozzarella cheese. Customers can also purchase their signature chimichurri sauce by the jar or as a small extra.
Nono José Empanadas will join a diverse lineup of retailers at Parkway Plaza, including major anchors JCPenney and Best Buy, and popular stores like Victoria’s Secret, Ulta Beauty, and H&M. Dining options nearby include Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Jamba Juice, and Regal Cinemas & IMAX Theatre, making the center a well-rounded destination.
Located at the busy I-8 and Hwy 67 interchange, Parkway Plaza benefits from substantial foot traffic generated by over 130 stores and entertainment venues. Its central location and mix of fashion, dining, and leisure options make it an excellent spot for Nono José Empanadas’ first permanent storefront.
With the move to a permanent location, Nono José Empanadas is expected to offer a consistent space for fans of their traditional Argentine flavors and expand their presence in the El Cajon dining scene.
