After previously announcing plans to expand into North County, Northside Shack is getting closer to opening a new location in Oceanside.
Previously, What Now San Diego reported that the Point Loma-based company would open its second location in Oceanside at 1940 S Freeman Street, but few details were available then. Two years later, owner Pamela Olvera is taking steps to finally open a third location in Oceanside, launching a GoFundMe to get the process moving faster. After experiencing construction setbacks and unexpected legal fees, the company hopes to make its North County debut in February 2024.
The family-run, minority-owned açai bowl shop has locations in Point Loma and North Park, offering açai bowls and smoothies since 2014. Now that the owner has launched a GoFundMe with a goal of $65,000, it’s much clearer what needs to be done before the company can expand again. Olvera plans to use the money to complete construction, assist with ongoing operational expenses, including rent and working capital, and address unexpected legal fees and costs incurred during the construction and building management processes. The company’s website also has a fourth location listed as coming soon to 1180 Rosecrans St.
