Olive Garden, an Italian casual dining restaurant owned and operated by Darden Restaurants, is getting ready to open a new location in San Ysidro at 4319 Camino De La Plaza.

The company’s newest location is set to move into the former home of a Bank of America on the outskirts of the San Ysidro Premium Outlet Mall, according to documents submitted to the Department of Environmental Health and Quality. While an exact opening date has not been announced, the filings indicate early progress on the project as the company prepares the site for development. Customers can expect Olive Garden’s familiar menu of pasta dishes, soups, salads, and family-style meals once the restaurant opens.

Olive Garden currently operates several locations throughout San Diego County, including restaurants in Sports Arena, Chula Vista, La Mesa, Santee, Carmel Mountain, Escondido, and Carlsbad. The San Ysidro location will expand the brand’s reach further south, offering another option for customers near the border and the busy outlet center. The chain remains one of Darden’s most recognizable brands and continues to grow in markets with substantial year-round traffic.

Darden Restaurants owns and operates more than 2,100 restaurants across North America. The company oversees several well-known brands, including LongHorn Steakhouse, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Eddie V’s, Bahama Breeze, and Chuy’s. Olive Garden remains its largest brand, supported by a menu focused on consistency and familiar Italian American offerings.

The menu features a wide range of entrees, including Chicken Alfredo, Lasagna Classico, Fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Parmigiana, and the Tour of Italy, along with soups, salads, and breadsticks. Family-style pans and bundles are also available for pickup or delivery, offering larger portions that serve four to six customers. Catering trays, kids’ meals, appetizers, and desserts round out the extensive lineup, along with non alcoholic beverages and specialty teas.

This site in San Ysidro will be an excellent landing space for Olive Garden, given the strong foot traffic around the outlet mall and its proximity to the border crossing. The area continues to attract both locals and visitors, supporting steady demand for full-service dining. The new location is expected to appeal to customers seeking a familiar national brand in a high-activity retail district.
