After owners had to make changes after opening a new restaurant in Ocean Beach, Angelo is expected to land somewhere else in San Diego.

Niccolò Angius and Cesarina Mezzoni, along with business partner Giuseppe Capasso, opened Elvira in Ocean Beach last month in the former home of Bo-Beau Kitchen + Bar at 4996 W. Point Loma Blvd, according to Eater. The Roman couple previously opened the well-known Cesarina Ristorante on Voltaire Street and planned to follow up a new concept called Angelo across the street. Now that Elvira is open, it appears the team is changing plans.

Instead of opening across the street from Cesarina, the owners are searching for a new location for the Angelo project. The exact area is unknown, but it will likely be in the Ocean Beach/ Point Loma area. When it opens, customers can expect a cheese-making facility that will also be used as a catering outpost for the company. Angius and Mezzoni, who have lived in Ocean Beach for the entirety of their time in San Diego, tell Eater that they’d like to open more restaurants in the Ocean Beach/Point Loma area.

The space intended for Angelo will still be used by the couple, just as something else. Details about what will be moving into the space across the street from Cesarina have yet to be revealed. New restaurants and concepts aren’t the only thing the business owners are working on. Next month, within Elvira, the duo will launch a private dining experience called ‘Cucina di La Nonna,’ offering an immersive dinner with a separate fixed-price menu to recreate the atmosphere of Elvira’s Italian kitchen at mealtimes.
