A restaurant that’s been in the works for some time is finally getting ready to open its doors.

Panini Kabob Grill, with locations throughout Southern California, hopes to open its next branch in Mission Valley very soon.

“The opening date is still tentative,” Owner Mike Rafipoor said.

He said they are still getting licenses from the city and while he hoped to be open by now, he is expecting a spring opening.

A Yelp page has already been created for the new restaurant, which expected to be open in early 2021. A Facebook page has also been created for the new restaurant.

First opened as Panini Cafe in Corona Del Mar, the restaurant celebrates Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. To reflect the wide array of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare it now serves, the name was changed to Panini Kabob Grill.

“We’re a Mediterranean Grill that specializes in Kabobs,” Rafipoor added.

Panini Kabob Grill is committed to making its food from scratch every day with high-quality ingredients. From freshly grilled kabobs to homemade soups and down to its salad dressing, it remains committed to making everything in-house.

Rafipoor said the new location at 891 Camino De La Reina in San Diego will join Panini Kabob Grill’s 19 other locations.
