Panini Kabob Grill, the fast-growing Southern California-based Mediterranean eatery, is getting ready to open even more locations in San Diego.

Since Mike Rafipoor opened the first location in 1997, he has expanded the brand throughout Southern California and has even opened a franchised location in Bakersfield. In San Diego County, the company has opened sites in Carlsbad, Del Mar, and Mission Valley. Now, the company is preparing to triple its area locations by next year, all of which will be corporate-owned. This is just the beginning for Panini Kabob Grill, which plans to open several locations throughout Southern California next year.

Previously, What Now San Diego reported on Panini Kabob Grill opening a new location in Westfield UTC in the former Great Maple space at 8675 Genesee Ave Ste 1200. While the company tentatively expected to open this site in May 2023, there have been a few delays. Now, a representative from the company tells What Now San Diego this location is expected to open before the end of the year.

Next year, Panini Kabob Grill plans to open corporate locations in Escondido and on the ground floor of Live Park 12, a pet-friendly apartment community in Downtown. While both of these locations are expected to open in Summer 2024, these are still tentative dates, and the company has yet to announce any official opening dates, according to a company representative. Panini Kabob Grill will also open new locations next year in Marina Del Rey, Sherman Oaks, Glendale, Hollywood, and Temecula.
