One of San Diego’s most well-known hospitality-based design firms is getting ready to open a new bar and restaurant called Roseacre in La Jolla at 7766 Girard Ave.
Paul Basile and his Basile Studio, which is behind some of the city’s most well-known restaurants, are getting ready to open this swanky new bar and restaurant in mid-to-late 2024, according to SanDiegoVille. The restaurant and name will pay homage to Fred Liebhardt, a renowned La Jolla architect who studied under Frank Lloyd Wright and left a lasting impression on the area’s architectural history. The concept is still early in the development stage, so few menu details have been established.
When the new restaurant opens later next year, the owners expect it to set a new standard for design-forward dining, drawing inspiration from mid-century modern architectural styles. Customers can expect a sleek aesthetic and floor-to-ceiling windows. Basile has teamed up with longtime friend, collaborator, and fellow area designer Jules Wilson to open Roseacre. The two reside together in a La Jolla residence crafted by Liebhardt. Other restaurants Basile Studio has helped open in San Diego include Puesto in Mission Valley, Morning Glory, Polite Provisions, North Park Beer, Raised By Wolves, Underbelly North Park, Born & Raised, Kindred, Craft & Commerce, The Nolen, and more.
“We are very excited about Roseacre as an incredible experience for La Jolla and San Diego,” Basile-Wilson Managing Partner Robert Wilson tells SanDiegoVille. “As you may know, Paul and Jules are responsible for some of the most iconic restaurant and entertainment destinations in San Diego, as Roseacre will encompass many of the most incredible elements of experiential design from those projects and more.”
