Phinology Coffee, a Vietnam-inspired coffee concept, is preparing to open in San Diego at 4344 Convoy St, Suite L.

The new cafe will move into the former home of Chakaa Tea House, which closed last year, according to documents submitted to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health Quality. The new location will be locally owned and operated by Stanley Ho, though an exact opening date has not yet been announced. Customers can expect Vietnamese coffee and other beverages, with the brand encouraging patrons to “Sip the Essence of Vietnam” on its social media.

Phinology Coffee will be located in the Convoy Village Shopping Center, a fully leased retail center in the heart of the Convoy District. The center is home to a mix of restaurant and retail tenants, including Monsta Ramen Curry, Shan Xi Magic Kitchen, Melody Karaoke & Cafe, OLLEH Korean BBQ, and Boot World, and benefits from high traffic counts on both Convoy Street and Balboa Avenue.

Phinology’s debut in San Diego continues the trend of locally owned coffee concepts expanding into high-traffic, mixed-use retail areas. Its presence in Convoy Village positions the brand to serve both neighborhood residents and visitors exploring the bustling corridor.

Further details about the menu, service style, and interior design have not yet been released, though the location is expected to follow the brand’s Vietnam-inspired coffee and beverage concept.
