There is no shortage of breweries in the works for the greater San Diego area. What Now San Diego recently covered Khris Astudillo’s plans to open Paradise Hills Brewing Company in North Park, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg as they say.
Recently, Pivovar West Brewing Co introduced its team and announced its plans to open a Czech-style brewery in Oceanside. Nyle Molina, with almost a decade of brewing in his arsenal, has teamed up with Pavla Jungwirthova to open the new brewery. The two have been brewing together for four years now.
According to the company’s very first Instragram post, in January of 2020, Pivovar will pour “Czech lagers, classic European styles, and all the American craft goodies that we all know and love.” A Facebook post from the same time shares a bit about the brewery’s concept: “We aim to provide a true Czech experience in our tasting room while still catering to the San Diego beer palate. Therefore, through our doors you will be greeted in Czech, be able to order a “milk pour” of a traditional Czech Pilsner, mix dark and light Czech lagers, enjoy some neighboring classic European styles, and still get your sticky sweet or hoppy fix. Na zdraví!”
We were unable to reach the owners at the time of publication, but just know Pivovar West, as recently as April of this year, is looking for investors through Mainvest. Follow the brewery’s social media for much-anticipated updates.
