Pizza 22 is the latest business setting up shop in Escondido. The new restaurant will fit into a 1700 square foot space in Escondido Gateway Center, replacing a former Firehouse Subs location.

The pizza place is headed up by local restaurant owners Eddy and Roula Jabbour. The Jabbour’s come with a wealth of industry experience, having run Eddy M’s Catering and later opening Elmisa Cafe in Rancho Bernardo.

Elmisa Cafe is a fast casual stop for breakfast and lunch, featuring sandwiches, salads, wraps, smoothies, plus a limited menu of flatbread pizzas.

On the menu at Elmisa you’ll find the #22, which includes chicken, prosciutto, pesto sauce, tomato, arugula, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. Their signature #22 is bound to show up on Pizza 22’s menu but we’ll have to wait and see. According to their website, Pizza 22 will specialize in hand-tossed pizzas made with fresh ingredients.

No word yet on when Pizza 22 plans to open doors. For now, stay close to their Website for updates on the business.
