Pizzabilities, an Alpine-based build-your-own pizza shop that provides jobs for individuals with special needs, is getting ready to open a new location in Santee at an undisclosed address.
The company’s second location is expected to open in early October 2025, according to a recent announcement on Facebook. Pizzabilities launched its original site in Alpine earlier this summer and is expanding just a few months later. Customers can expect a casual, counter-service format offering customizable pizzas, a focus on community, and an inclusive staff comprised primarily of team members with disabilities.
The brand was founded by the Baker family, who were inspired by their daughter Grace’s experience seeking meaningful employment after high school. The Alpine store currently employs around 20 individuals, nearly all of whom have special needs. Owners Josh Baker and Ron Burner have said they plan to expand throughout San Diego County, to open multiple locations in the coming years.
Pizzabilities focuses on providing both quality food and purposeful work. Each location is designed to be a welcoming, community-driven space where individuals of all abilities can thrive. The new Santee location is expected to follow the same model, building on the strong response to the first store’s mission-driven approach.
The menu includes 10-inch pizzas starting at $12.95, with four crust options, six sauces, and a range of toppings. Specialty pies include Buffalo Chicken, Barbecue Chicken, and Sicilian Pepperoni. Guests can also build custom salads or add on items like cheesy bread, brownies, and cookies.
By expanding into Santee, Pizzabilities continues to grow its vision of inclusion and opportunity, bringing what it calls “pizza with purpose” to more neighborhoods across the region.
