Purple Owl Cafe is setting up its debut location in Julian. A sister business to the Julian-based sweets shop, Juliantla Chocolate Boutique, a recent permit filing places the coffeehouse just outside of Julian’s main thoroughfare in a space formerly occupied by Poncho Villa’s Mexican Restaurant.
Details are being kept close by owner Yesenia Rodriguez but a few hints have been made via social media about what to expect from the coffee shop.
According to an update post by Juliantla Chocolate, their new cafe will serve coffee, pastries, cakes, and sweet or savory crepes. The site will also feature a drive-thru component. Juliantla Chocolate is only a few blocks away in the historic mountain town, specializing in packaged chocolates, custom cakes, and vegan desserts.
An opening date for Purple Owl Cafe has not been announced. Stay tuned for updates by following on Instagram.
