A standalone location of Rikka Fika Coffee + Toast has been in the works for some time now. What Now San Diego originally shared in early 2022 that the specialty cafe and bakeshop would make its debut in La Jolla. Rikka Fika recently commented on social media that they had run into construction complications at their proposed La Jolla site which caused delays.
Now, co-owner Michelle Jow tells What Now San Diego that another centrally-located storefront is being planned. Jow along with co-owner Scott Chen have yet to make an official announcement on the new plans as they’re currently being developed.
Rikka Fika has been hosting weekly pop-up events on Saturdays at their temporary location in Miramar, offering online pre-orders beginning on Tuesday of each week.
Jow and Chen share their coffee adventures with guests at Rikka Fika, offering a coffee subscription program with a diverse coffee selection from across the globe. The menu at Rikka Fika also features their signature fresh and fluffy shokupan bread, available by the loaf or as toast topped with premium ingredients.
