Stave & Nail Brewing Co. announced via social media yesterday that Saturday, January 29th will be their final day pouring beers at their San Marcos location. According to real estate firm, Flocke & Avoyer, the brewery has signed on to join The Rylan Apartments in Downtown Vista

The brewery will move into a 3,544 square foot facility, joining Archer’s Arrow Coffee House at the new mixed-use development on Main Street.

Stave & Nail’s specialty is barrel aged and fermented beers, leaning into the funky and flavorful character brought about by the exploration of fruits, wild yeast strains, and bacteria. Their portfolio highlights heavily-fruited blends, Sours, Saisons, and Wild Ales.

The brewery is family-owned and led by Justin and Joe Stambaugh. While the move from San Marcos is the end of an era for Stave & Nail, their team explains what this means for production and the future of the brewery in the Instagram announcement. “We are planning to be back up and operational in a few months with a new (to us) brewery, new can and bottle releases, and a bard new patio built just in time for another gorgeous San Diego Summer. Having our own system means more frequent releases, more beer styles on tap and in package, and more Stave & Nail beer going out to bars and bottle shops around SD and beyond,” explains the post.

The invitation is open for customers to enjoy Stave & Nail beers in their San Marcos taproom through the end of this week. The new operation at The Rylan is expected to open by Summer 2022. For more information, follow Stave & Nail on Instagram
