A new mega-development called The Admiral is preparing to transform a massive part of Point Loma’s historic Liberty Station.

This is the latest from Ryan Thorsen, known for taking over Mister A’s from Bertaud Hug in 2022, according to San Diego Magazine. The successful businessman is now getting ready for a much larger project, dubbed The Admiral. This project will transform seven buildings along Rosecrans Boulevard, essentially the side entrance to Liberty Station. By the time it’s completed in 2026, there will be a restaurant, canteen, game room, an event venue, and a cocktail bar.

The main attraction will be The Venue, a two-story 1923 Spanish Revival home that will host weddings and events. A bed and breakfast will sit on the second floor. Other notes regarding the development include the canteen having its own bakery, the game room won’t have any screens, and the restaurant has abundant outdoor seating. It’s a massive development for only seven acres, but the $15 million concept is expected to open in 2025.

Each concept will have its own perception of a theme from the 1920s-1940s. No matter which part of The Admiral you visit, the space is designed to be a stylish, full-service social club without a membership. This will be an excellent place for visitors to grab a cocktail, a bite to eat, or supplies for a picnic. A fleet of golf carts will transport guests from building to building to make it easier to get around to all of these activities.
