The Brant, a coastal-inspired restaurant with a site in Huntington Beach, is preparing to open a new location in Encinitas at 806 Coast Highway 101.

The company’s second location will take over the former home of Beachside Bar and Grill, which was demolished to make way for a mixed-use development, according to owner Travis Brummett, who tells What Now San Diego that the ground level will offer roughly 6,500 square feet for dining, with an additional 1,500-square-foot rooftop bar. Additional spaces in the building will accommodate offices and small fast casual businesses, such as smoothie or sandwich shops.

While the team aims to start building within the next one to two months, the target opening is late July to early August 2026. Travis will oversee operations, while his brother, Drew, will manage day-to-day operations at the new restaurant. Customers can expect a menu similar to the Huntington Beach location, with plans to expand offerings over time.

The Brant opened its first location in Huntington Beach and has become known for its coastal ambiance, expansive brunch and dinner menu, and rooftop bar experience. The Encinitas location will feature a larger kitchen and overall space than the original, allowing for more seating and greater menu flexibility. This will mark the brand’s second branch, with other affiliated restaurants and concepts under Brummett’s leadership.

The menu includes a wide variety of dishes, from small plates like pretzel bread board, smoked salmon, and steamed clams, to salads and sandwiches such as the Brant Burger and prime rib dip. House specialties include center-cut filet mignon, double-bone-in pork chop, grilled salmon, and pan-seared halibut. The restaurant also offers vegetarian options, seasonal additions, and happy-hour and brunch specials.

The rooftop bar will provide a dedicated space for cocktails, wine, and local craft beers, complementing the main dining room experience. With its larger footprint, scenic rooftop, and familiar Huntington Beach menu, The Brant’s Encinitas location aims to serve both longtime fans and new customers in the North County coastal area.
