After a short run in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, La Conde Cantina at 570 K Street will soon close and be rebranded as El Rincon de Los Dolidos, a new karaoke bar and restaurant concept.

The Emme Group, led by chef Misael Guerrero, is preparing to make significant changes, and not just to its location in Downtown. The company has already begun converting La Conde Cantina Santa Monica, which is already closed and preparing to be reintroduced as El Rincon de Los Dolidos, with a grand opening planned for August 23. After this, The Emme Group will shift its focus to San Diego to do the same, according to SanDiegoVille. El Rincon De Los Dolidos is expected to open later this year.

When the new concept takes over the two La Conda Cantina locations, customers can expect an exciting new karaoke bar and restaurant concept. The company’s Instagram describes the upcoming as a “Despecho Bar” and “the place to overcome spite and burning,” which means there will be plenty of heartbreak songs and strong cocktails in this new concept. As for food, expect bold flavors of Latin American. The company should have no problems getting customers in the doors, as it is in this busy location near Petco Park.

This isn’t the only concept the Emme Group is allegedly working on. Back in 2021, the group announced that it is taking over the former space of BiCE Ristorante in the Gaslamp to open a location of Mamá Por Dios. While these plans have yet to come to fruition, the Emme Group is finally ready to open a concept in San Diego’s busy downtown area. Prior to the pandemic, the group proudly had locations of Culichi Town in Vista and downtown Chula Vista, but they have since closed.
