A brand new concept called The Haole Shack is preparing to debut in Pacific Beach, located at 707 Grand Avenue.
The new Hawaiian-themed restaurant is set to move into the Pacific Beach Surf Shop space on the ground level outside PB Shore Club, first reported by San Diego Magazine. This is the latest from Grind & Prosper Hospitality and Square One Concepts, which own several popular San Diego concepts, including the Louisiana Purchase, Coco Maya, and more. The two restaurant groups and Doug Sondomowicz of Pacific Beach Fish Shop launched PB Shore Club in 2007.
The three partners are now planning to open The Haole Shack next month. The restaurant will offer various burgers, such as smash burgers and bean burgers, as well as teriyaki bowls and shaved Ice. Another item on the menu will be “Double Shaka” dirty fries with tri-tip, chicken, kook sauce, green onions, and sesame seeds over French fries. Customers can order takeout from the counter, but a handful of patio parklet seating will also be available for 16 guests.
“We’re hoping to introduce a great, quick-service option for burgers, teriyaki bowls, and shaved ice, whether you’re off to the beach, waiting in line at PB Shore Club, or looking for late-night grub,” Haole Shack’s director of operations, Ben Carroccio, tells San Diego Magazine.
