The North County dining scene is about to expand with the arrival of a new neighborhood staple, The Henry, on July 23. Part of Fox Restaurant Concepts’ lineup of “greatest neighborhood restaurants,” The Henry joins regional sister brands like Flower Child, Blanco, and Culinary Dropout.

The Henry to Open in North County on July 23

With modern coastal elegance and rich neutral tones, The Henry interior gives a warm and earthy feel and seats 101 guests indoors and 125 outdoors. Spanning 6,763 square feet, the space is framed by lush landscaping, striped canopies, and decorative metal fencing.

“San Diego has always felt like a second home to me — I’ve spent years building restaurants and a community here, enjoying the coastal energy that makes this place so special,” said Sam Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts.

“With North County’s dining scene so full of momentum, bringing The Henry to Carlsbad felt like the natural next step. We’re excited to add our signature spirit to the mix with great food, welcoming vibes, and a place where locals feel like regulars from day one,” he said.

Menu Mixes Classics with Fresh Twists

The Henry brings brings the signature charm and menu, echoing the appeal that made the Coronado location a staple. The menu is a blend of familiar favorites with seasonal selections crafted with house-made ingredients and fresh flavors.

Appetizer highlights include Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice and Short Rib Potstickers. Among the standout entrees are the Korean Prime Skirt Steak, which is served with snap peas, bok choy, pickled shiitake, mint, cilantro, egg fried rice, and ginger.

The Scottish Salmon stands out with toasted quinoa, Marcona almond pesto, crispy sweet potato, watercress, and a pomegranate glaze. The vibrant Harvest Bowl offers a lighter option, crafted to satisfy cravings any time of day.

Weekend brunch will be served every Saturday and Sunday, offering a lineup of comfort classics and California-inspired fare.

Guests can enjoy Huevos Rancheros Enchiladas, featuring soft scrambled eggs topped with ranchero sauce, queso Oaxaca, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, poblano crema, and toasted pepitas. Other fan favorites include the Quinoa Burrito or Bowl, featuring eggs, black beans, pasilla chile, blistered peppers, avocado, and cotija.

The bar menu showcases standouts like the matcha-infused The Way of Tea and the Smoked Pineapple Margarita. Hank’s Espresso Martini tops the list with a rich, frothy twist on the classic.

The menu also offers house-made zero-proof drinks for guests skipping alcohol. Other refreshing picks include the Honeydew Highball, Pineapple & Thai Basil Soda, and Sparkling Matcha Latte.

The Henry has also partnered with the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation as part of its grand opening celebration. The eatery will donate 30% of its opening day proceeds to support the organization’s aim to protect the lagoon and promote environmental education.

With its warm ambiance and curated menu, The Henry is poised to become a new favorite in North County. Blending industrial and classic design elements, the space sets the stage for a dining experience that caters to every taste.
