Tom’s Watch Bar, a national chain that is the perfect place for sports viewing, looks to be making its San Diego debut in East Village at 815 J Street, Suite 101

The company’s first San Diego location will be opening in the former home of Social Tap, according to a representative from the company, who tells What Now San Diego that this location is expected to open in Summer 2025. When it opens, customers can expect a high-energy sports bar offering classic American food options with over 150 televisions providing 360-degree viewing of every sport.

The new location comes after the Colorado-based sports-watching entertainment concept named Brooks Schaden and Shannon McNiel as co-CEOs. Both are co-founders of the growing chain, along with fellow industry veterans Tom Ryan and Rick Schaden, who remain with the company as board members and active advisors.

“Brooks and Shannon have demonstrated the strength of their partnership over the past seven years, together successfully driving Tom’s Watch Bar’s growth to 12 – soon to be 13 – high-performing locations that bring an entirely new take on an elevated sports-viewing experience,” Rick Schaden said in a press release. “Their complementary expertise and unified vision will accelerate the company’s aggressive national expansion plans through 2025 and beyond.”

Tom’s Watch Bar operates 13 locations, including branches in cities like Washington, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. In 2024, the company expanded into Orlando and Indianapolis, serving an estimated 2.5 million sports fans and hosting over 600 watch parties. Thanks to strong partnerships with corporate and sports organizations, private event sales rose by over 50%. Looking ahead to 2025, the company plans to open seven to eight new locations, targeting Seattle and Cleveland, demonstrating its ability to capitalize on market opportunities.

“Our 2024 performance demonstrates the strength of our business model and the growing demand for premium sports entertainment experiences,” Schaden said in a press release. “As we look to 2025, we’re positioned to capitalize on significant market opportunities while continuing to innovate, bring in new guests and enhance our guest experience. We are thrilled to continue on our growth path to bring the Tom’s Watch Bar experience to sports fans across the country.”
