After recently opening a new concept, SD Backyard Restaurant Group is working on its next restaurant, Oi-Shiba, in Pacific Beach.

The fast-growing restaurant group has opened two restaurants in San Diego this year and doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon. Earlier this year, the SDB Restaurant Group opened Bok Bok Dok in the Midway Towne Center shopping plaza in Point Loma, followed by the company’s sixth restaurant, Viet Nom, in the University City area at the Renaissance Town Centre shopping plaza. Next up, the group will open a new ramen shop called Oi-Shiba this June, according to Eater San Diego.

Founder Frankin Chou opened the group’s first concept, Steamy Piggy, in 2017, followed by Formoosa, Flama Llama, and Yun Tea House in Kearny Mesa. Each restaurant from SDB Restaurant Group offers a different taste in different regions of Asia. Not much information regarding Oi-Shiba has been released, but when it opens this summer, customers can expect delicious ramen with high-quality ingredients.

“At SD Backyard, we strive to create unforgettable dining experiences that celebrate the rich and diverse flavors of the world,” according to the company’s website. “Our team of talented chefs draws inspiration from the vibrant culinary traditions of countries such as China, Taiwan, Korea, Peru, and more. We carefully curate each menu, blending traditional techniques with contemporary influences to offer a harmonious fusion of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds.”
