A go-to place for breakfast and brunch lovers, this San Francisco eatery offers delectable eats in its warm ambiance. The outdoor setting of MYMY further attracts the San Francisco crowd. Menu highlights include crispy potatoes, classic eggs Benedict, banana pancakes, salmon tartine, cappuccino, pistachio latte, and orange juice.
MYMY demonstrated unsatisfactory results in a food inspection by the San Francisco Department of Health. Food inspectors noted multiple violations at the brunch place during their inspection on April 28.
Inspection Findings at MYMY
The inspection report first highlighted that MYMY did not have a food handlers card during the inspection. After this, food inspectors found that cooks at the San Francisco eatery were using soiled towels to wipe their hands and then handling raw food items. Some were not even washing their hands and using food equipment.
Inspectors further reported that fried chicken was being cooked at 90°F, which was higher than the required 41°F and lower than the mandated 135°F.
Food contact surfaces were not being sanitized properly at MYMY. Two sanitizer solution buckets were being used to measure less than 100 ppm chlorine.
Food inspectors then reported the presence of live cockroaches around the dirty dish rack. Egg casings, nymph cockroaches, their feces, and dead adult cockroaches were also observed in different corners of the food prep area.
The inspection report then shed light on multiple cleanliness issues at MYMY. Wiping cloths were stored outside of the sanitizer solution at the San Francisco food facility. Cross-contamination of food was also observed. A cell phone was found in the food prep area. Dented cans were also seen on storage shelves.
Based on the presence of cockroaches and other sanitation issues, the San Francisco Department of Health ordered the immediate closure of MYMY. The food facility is now expected to take corrective action before a reinspection is conducted by the food inspectors in the coming months.
