On August 20, inspectors from the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s Environmental Health Branch found that Mango Medley did not comply with city health standards. The inspectors reported issues at the establishment, including mouse activity and a cockroach infestation. The inspectors temporarily closed the restaurant and will return to assess compliance after corrective actions are taken.

Please note that the report mentioned here is from an inspection conducted on August 20 and may not represent the future health inspection status of the food establishment.

Highlights

  • Mango Medley was deemed noncompliant with health standards following a routine inspection on August 20, 2025.
  • The restaurant was temporarily closed due to mouse activity, cockroach infestation, and other violations.
  • The establishment may request a reinspection once all violations are corrected.

The hand sink in the establishment’s prep area was blocked by a pitcher. Soap and single-use towels in dispensers should be available at all sinks at all times. The violation was promptly corrected on site.

Inspectors found that the establishment did not have a sanitizer solution on site. Dead and live roaches were identified by inspectors on glue boards, next to cooking equipment, and underneath a prep table. Mouse droppings were found in the side storage area and the back area.

Staff were unable to provide receipts for pest control services. Inspectors noted that regular service records should be maintained on-site.

The establishment should have all non-food-contact surfaces cleaned and sanitized by a third party and keep the premises organized and sanitary. The health inspection report was published online.

Follow-up Inspection

The restaurant’s permit remains temporarily suspended and has been ordered to close temporarily. The establishment should ensure that all issues warranting closure are addressed within a reasonable time.

The department needs to reinstate its permit for Mango Medley to resume food handling and remain open. To resume operations, the restaurant must first be cleaned and sanitized, then undergo professional pest control treatment, with proof of service available at the follow-up inspection.

According to the department, the restaurant must submit updates via email, and only an inspector may remove the closure placard.
