The report cited major health code violations, which resulted in the suspension of the restaurant’s permit and its immediate closure.
The health inspectors observed mouse droppings near the food preparation area and found droppings on the floor around the batter table. The report also noted rodent activity on the floor next to the one-door upright refrigerator storing raw chicken, behind the water heater downstairs, and behind the chest freezers downstairs.
During the inspection, the food safety manager was absent. The restaurant also kept potentially hazardous foods (Turkey) at 45°F in the bottom portion of the food preparation cooler. Two non-commercial refrigerators/ freezers were also found in the restaurant.
The restaurant must eliminate the rodent infestation using approved methods, sanitize the establishment, and its utensils. The officials also advised the restaurant operators to store potentially hazardous foods at the correct temperatures.
