Samaha Yemen Coffee and Tea will open its first location at 1625 Shattuck Avenue, Suite 102 in Berkeley. The coffee and tea shop will operate as a fast-casual establishment where customers can order at the counter and then hang out and relax.

Co-owner Jabriel Isa tells What Now San Francisco that the shop will serve specialty coffee sourced from Yemen, fresh juice, and Middle Eastern pastries like rose cakes, coconut cakes, sabaya, knafeh, and khaliat nahal — cheese-filled bread rolls coated in honey and topped with sesame seeds, also known as honeycomb bread. According to Isa, Samaha will be one of the first shops in the Bay Area to serve Yemeni coffee.

The coffee and tea shop will land next to establishments like Guerilla Cafe, Da Lian Restaurant, vegetarian restaurant Cha-Ya, Cucakin Bake Shop, and Taste of the Himalayas.

In addition to Jabriel Isa, Abdulwasa Samaha and Adil Isa are co-owners of Samaha Yemen Coffee and Tea. Isa shares with What Now San Francisco that the shop is predicted to open in February 2023.
